LpC Events We at Lpc Events recognise that as a company our work may have a direct or indirect impact on the local, regional and global environment. We are committed to minimizing our negative impacts and acting in a sustainable way, meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. LpC Events is aware that printing activities have environmental impact and we have taken steps to reduce these impacts and encourage our customers to do so as well. Cutting Back on Waste We try to eliminate waste at source and some of the ways we do this are:
Buying Our purchasing decisions are influenced by cost of course, they need to be. However this by no means our only consideration, and we make a conscious effort to ensure we are buying from sustainable sources, which are local if possible. Wherever possible we try to use print that is vegetable oil based not petroleum based, making it significantly lower in harmful VOC’s All our packaging, paper and envelopes are 100% recycled material and we don’t use packing material that is non-biodegradable. Wherever possible we try and purchase goods and services locally, to help the local economy and to reduce carbon miles. We are passionate about our local community and the development of sustainable business. One of our team has lectured at Strathclyde University on this. Travel LpC Events has undertaken a commitment to make travel as green as possible. We use public transport and our current team (Jan 2011) use the following means to travel to work: train; bus and ferry! Whenever possible we work from home, with the majority of in-house conversations and team meetings taking place via audio conferencing. Although we enjoy meeting our clients face to face this is not always necessary and therefore when practical we use the same audio conferencing techniques for meetings between team members and clients. When travel is required members of staff utilise the hybrid vehicle or public transport in the form of buses or trains whenever possible. Energy Studies have shown employees are significantly less energy conscious whilst at work than they are at home. We believe our staff are very conscious of their energy and water usage.
